CALL TO ARTISTS: In Search of small Works Opening February 7
to
Queen Annes County Centre for the Arts 206 S. Commerce St, Centreville, Maryland 21617
It's that time of year again! It's time to make some art! Queen Anne's County Centre for the Arts is sponsoring our9th Annual Small Works, an exhibit and auction of small works of art.
The proceeds of the event will benefit the Arts Council and the events, scholarships, and grants we do all year long. We ask artists to donate a piece for the show which will be on exhibit from February 7th to March 14th.
Participating is easy (and really fun)! All you have to do is fill out an application that you can download right from this e-mail. It's also linked on our website www.queenannescountyarts.com. And then bring in your work and filled out app any time between now and January 30th. (You're welcome to do more than one piece!) Some artists chose to fill out an app first, letting us know they'll be giving a piece, and then bring the piece at a later time, or you can simply bring your piece and paperwork in all at once. You may make a piece especially for the event, or your might have one on hand already that fits our size requirements.
Pieces may be NO LARGER than 11" x 11" framed and/or ready to hang. Or, if your piece is 3D, it may be no larger than 11" x 11" x 11".
ALL MEDIA ARE ACCEPTED: photography, painting, ceramics, jewelry, drawing, digital works, textiles, sculpture, woodwork, watercolor, etc.Get that imagination going!
Your work will be displayed at the Queen Anne's County Centre for the Arts until Saturday March 14th. During this time, people will be buying chances to win your work, with proceeds going to the Arts Council. Events will be held here at the Centre for the Arts during this time, with your work on display. We'll also be doing promotions through e-mail, Facebook, our website, and print media. It all ends with a big closing party on March 14th when winners of each piece will be drawn. This is a great opportunity to get your work seen by hundreds of people in person, and thousands online! And all the while, you'll be helping your local Arts Council bring programs, events, shows, and funding to your local arts community all year round. There is also space on the application to tell us about other ways we can help promote your work including your e-mail address (or other best contact method), website, Etsy shop, Facebook page, Instagram, blog or other digital presences. You work will be photographed for possible inclusion on our website, Facebook, e-mails, etc. So send something that represents your talents so the world can see!
