The Hedgelawn Classical Series presents some of the most talented classical artists in the Mid-Atlantic Region. This month's featured group is L'Abri Trio. This unique chamber ensemble was inaugurated the current Hedgelawn series in 2018 and has returned by popular demand.
The L’abri Trio is a unique collaboration of saxophone, cello, and piano founded in 2012 by three outstanding musicians at the Peabody Conservatory. The ensemble dedicated to new interpretations of traditional music and to exploring new music with the eclectic sounds of their unique instrumentation. The L’abri has reimagined classics from Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Poulenc, and Piazzolla while commissioning new works from some of today’s most imaginative composers. In July 2018, the Trio released its latest album, Trois Couleurs: Music of Beethoven, Poulenc, and Piazzolla, the first release on P Classics’ new US classical record label.
