Mid-Winter Eagle Survey

Join Blackwater NWR staff and volunteers for this annual survey of eagles on the Refuge! The count will take place from 10:00-10:30 a.m. from designated stationary observation sites throughout the Refuge. This year's eagle count is scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, 2020, with a rain date of Thursday, January 9. On the day of the survey, participants will meet at 8 a.m. at the Blackwater NWR Visitor Center on Key Wallace Drive. Please note that we are only doing the morning non-roost count. The afternoon roost count is no longer being conducted.
