Revolutionary War Reenactment
Step back into the contentious days surrounding the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Join the people of London Town in exploring what “independence” really means. You can join the Continental Army or Continental Marines to learn musket drill, debate the merits of independence in William Brown’s tavern, and learn how colonists made a living at our Carpenters’ Shop and Tenement.
The United States Marine Corps Historical Company will be leading several activities, including black powder demonstrations, debating the Declaration of Independence, demonstrating outdoor cooking, and of course, leading marine recruitment.
Come by before opening hours (9am) on Saturday to enjoy Coffee with the Colonists. You can enjoy coffee and tea with volunteer living historians who bring the weekend to life. Chat with them about life during the Revolutionary War and their experiences doing living history.
Included with general admission. Free for London Town members (become one today!) and members of the active military (and their families) through the Blue Star Museums program - learn more at www.historiclondontown.org/bluestarmuseums . Small additional fee for Coffee with the Colonists (tickets available later in 2020).
Two sessions: Saturday, July 11 10:00am-4:30pm OR Sunday, July 12 10:00am-4:30pm
