For the “Blood”
— 1 cup Sugar
— ½ cup Karo Syrup
— ½ cup water
— Red food color
Combine sugar, syrup and water in a saucepan over high heat. Cook without stirring to 300 degree F, or the hard crack stagge. Add the food coloring.
Turn off the heat. While the sugar mixture is still hot, dip the top of the martini glass into it to get a red rim. When you flip the glass the right side up, the mixture will drip down the side as it hardens.
For the martini
— 2 ounces vodka
— 1 ounce apple schnapps (or Sour Apple Pucker)
Combine in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass.
