In this role, she will continue to be responsible for internal and external communications, the website, media and government relations, and for serving as a liaison between the health system and its hospital auxiliaries, community associations and many other community partners. Willis adds fund raising to her responsibilities, which includes leadership of the fund development team and the relationship building and fundraising activities of Shore Health System.
Willis joined the Memorial Hospital at Easton in 1985 as Director of Communications. She was named Vice President of Corporate Communications for Shore Health System in 1996. A graduate of Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, Willis earned a master of arts from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She is a 2000 graduate of Shore Leadership.
Joseph P. Ross, President and CEO for Shore Health System, says, “Patti's promotion coincides with an organizational change that sets the stage for Shore Health System to meet the communications, community outreach and fund development challenges of the coming decade.”
Ross adds, “I will rely on Patti's knowledge and experience and her relationships in the communities that we serve as we continue to build our regional network. Her skills are particularly valuable as we move forward with our plan to build a regional medical center, which includes developing a capital campaign and keeping people informed throughout this complex project.”
A resident of St. Michaels, Willis is a member of the Maryland Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations and the Society of Healthcare Strategy and Market Development. Active in many community organizations, she presently serves as Vice President of the Easton Rotary Club and is on the Board of Directors for Hospice of Queen Anne's.
