Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 30! You will want to be in Shady Side for a peninsula-wide yard sale, sponsored by the Shady Side Rural Heritage Society. The local communities that will be participating include Idlewilde, Columbia Beach, Cedarhurst, Westelee, the Captain Salem Avery Museum, and Avalon Shores. These subdivisions will have a central display area, and individual residents may choose to have their private sales. There are sure to be many bargains and unique items on this treasure hunt/yard sale.

Guest will begin their tour of the area at the Capt. Salem Avery Museum, 1418 E.W. Shady Side Road, at 8 a.m. At the Museum free coffee and coffee cake will be served (while supplies last) and maps will be provided of all the sale locations in Shady Side. Special sale items will be offered there, also.

The event will be held rain or shine, and is scheduled to end at noon.
