Severn, Maryland – On June 13th, members of the Anne Arundel County Association of REALTORS® (AACAR) presented the proceeds from their latest committee fundraising project to The Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County.
The vision of AACAR’s Equal Opportunity and Cultural Diversity (EOCD) Committee is to promote equal opportunity in housing and real estate, develop programs that inform and promote awareness of cultural diversity among members, with the public, and in partnership with other real estate organizations. This year, the committee invited local REALTORS® and industry partners to participate in a mosaic project fundraiser to showcase a vision of unity.

Committee member, Jenn Klarman, helped lead the initiative, serving as the chief organizer, designer, mosaic tile layout artist, and silent auctioneer. Betty Jans, the Committee Chair, and Cheryl Odell-Duffy, the Committee Vice Chair, coordinated the effort across real estate offices with the support of other committee members.
“Many thanks to all who participated or supported this project. We loved the opportunity to further the conversation about equal opportunity and cultural diversity in our industry while raising money for a wonderful organization,” shared Betty Jans.
The Committee presented a check to the Boys and Girls Clubs at the Severn Center. This facility opened in August 2023 and is already serving 100 children a day with incredible programming.
