Many organizations reported back on successful #GivingTuesdays! See some of the updates and 'Thank You"s below.
Annapolis Maritime Museum is grateful to everyone who gave this #GivingTuesday. Your gift was critical as we continue to recover from October's flood. With your help, we met our Chairman's match of $5,000! THANK YOU for believing in our mission and making an impact in your local community!
Thank you to everyone who gave to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank during Giving Tuesday and helped us meet our match challenge! Generous friends of Anne Arundel County Food Bank matched donations dollar for dollar up to $15,000 for Giving Tuesday and we are happy to report that we not only reached our goal but exceeded it! Thanks to supporters like you, we raised a total of $63,205! Your gift helps provides nutritious food where it’s most needed throughout our county, such as a special distribution of nearly 7,000 holiday food boxes for Thanksgiving, and another 7,000 boxes that will be distributed before the end of the year. These holiday food boxes are in addition to our normal food distribution that feeds an average of 17,700 households per month.
Thank you all so much for your generosity on #GivingTuesday! Annapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians cannot do any of our work without you! We hope you enjoyed our video--it is permanently housed on our YouTube Channel—spread the joy! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAhuydxloeUOdc2rGyWiDZg

Update from the Governor
Covid updates are continuing. Last Friday, Governor Hogan sent out this update.
Dear Marylanders,
Earlier today, state health officials identified the first three confirmed cases of the COVID-19 Omicron variant (B.1.1.529) here in Maryland. The World Health Organization has designated Omicron as a ‘variant of concern,’ and cases associated with it have now been identified in a number of states and countries.
Our entire team is continuing to very closely monitor this situation. I am urging Marylanders to not panic, to be safe, and to use common sense. This is not the first variant we have seen, and it will not be the last.
While there are a great deal of unknowns about the Omicron variant, our state already has taken steps to make more rapid antigen tests available across the state. Nearly half a million at-home tests have been distributed at multiple locations, including local health departments, libraries, and community centers. Rapid tests and guidance are also now available at the international terminal at BWI Marshall Airport for the nearly 7,000 international passengers who arrive each week.
Getting vaccinated or getting your booster shot continues to be the best way to protect yourself, your family, and your fellow Marylanders this holiday season. Get a booster shot between now and next weekend to be fully protected by Christmas.
To find a vaccine provider and schedule an appointment, Marylanders can visit covidvax.maryland.gov or call 1-855-MD-GOVAX.
Our state has been able to lead throughout this entire crisis by listening to the experts and by following the science, and that is exactly what we will continue to do.
