Their Picture-Perfect Beginning
It was literally love at first like: Ashley spotted Paul on Instagram and immediately thought, “This is my future husband.” After messaging back and forth for a few months, Paul finally made his move and asked Ashley out. “We’ve been inseparable ever since,” she says.
A Toast and a Ring
Paul rented a house on Deep Creek Lake for a special weekend with his and Ashley’s families. “I was under the impression we were celebrating his birthday, my sister’s birthday, and Mother’s Day,” Ashley says. But the second night, as the families were playing a game, Paul snuck off to pour glasses of champagne. “He made a toast to our families for coming out and then turned to me,” Ashley recalls. As Paul began declaring his love, Ashley started fumbling with her phone, so she could capture his words on camera—causing her to nearly miss the proposal! “It took me a while to realize what was happening,” Ashley says laughing.
The Venue Shuffle
Ashley had always pictured herself getting married in a garden—which is how she ended up at Turf Valley Resort. “Their landscaping is gorgeous,” she says. However, two days before the wedding, she had to sacrifice her vision of an outdoor ceremony because of the 99-degree weather. “I guess the hardest decision was me having to be mature and change my dream wedding last minute,” she says. Although the couple moved their ceremony inside, they braved the heat for their first look and wedding party portraits as a compromise.
Her Fairytale Dress
“My parents had a vision of me in a white princess-like ballgown since I was young,” Ashley says. “My mom saw the dress on a hanger and knew it was the one—and she was right! I definitely felt like a princess.”
Unchained Melodies
Ashley just adores Monica—so she gave the R&B legend two shout-outs with her song selections: For her processional, she chose “For You I Will” and she twirled to “Angel of Mine” for her first dance.
A Tricked-Out Reception
To personalize their ballroom reception, Ashley and Paul had purple uplighting and a gold-monogrammed dance floor. They also rented a photo booth and gave out sunglasses to their guests with their wedding hashtag, #ForeverMoore.
It Takes a Family
To Ashley, family is paramount. Hers was a big support during the planning process and she assigned them unique roles on her wedding day. She asked her uncle to officiate, her grandmother to pray during the ceremony, and her best friend—and cousin—to be her maid of honor. She also took time to be alone with both of her parents, which was one of the highlights of her day. “Those are moments I’ll cherish forever,” she says.
