As I told you earlier in the week, my dog recently moved in to my new condo. Well, unfortunately, in the three days since he's been here, he's managed to chew the doorknob until it is pretty much beyond recognition. It looks more like a piece of abstract art at this point.

So this weekend I will be heading to Home Depot to purchase a replacement. And while I'm on a kind of building and home repair kick, I may pay a visit to the Shore for Dorchester Chamber of Commerce Build Day. On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Chamber board members, along with others, will be doing construction work at 703 Wright Street in Cam idge. This home is one of many being built through Habitat for Humanity Choptank to help families in need. I've worked on a Habitat home before, spending a day sanding, painting and sweeping in Towson, and I am anxious to strap on my overalls again.

This home will be LEED certified, which means it's energy efficient. The more hands on deck, the more likely it can be finished by Earth Day. Call 410-228-3575 if you'd like to volunteer.
