Passed by Maryland's General Assembly, The Civil Marriage Protection Act and The DREAM Act will be voted on by public referendum on the November 6th, 2012 ballot. The Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of Maryland (UULM-MD) is a statewide advocacy network that is comprised of individual UUs. It works to educate, mobilize and coordinate the advocacy of UUs on specific issues before the Maryland General Assembly. Partnered with like-minded coalitions, UULM-MD provides a voice for UU principles and traditions in the discussions of state and federal human rights issues.
UULM-MD's current priorities are to support the implementation of The Civil Marriage Protection Act in coalition with the Marylanders for Marriage Equality and to support the implementation of the DREAM Act in coalition with Educating Maryland Kids. Both laws will be submitted to referendum on the Maryland General Election ballot on November 6, 2012.
