This weekend, the Eastern Shore will showcase a sampling of the best it has to offer when the 34th Annual Rescue Fire Company Seafood Fest-I-Val and the 4th Annual Watermen's Appreciation Day & Crab Feast take place.
Both events commence on Saturday, with the Seafood Fest-I-Val running from 1-6 p.m. and the Crab Feast lasting from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Seafood Fest-I-Val, which will take place rain or shine at Sailwinds Park in Cam idge, is an all-you-can-eat cele ation that features steamed crabs, crab soup, fried fish, fried clams, BBQ chicken, watermelon, ranch fries, sweet potato fries and much more. Hosted by the by the Talbot County Watermen's Association, the Watermen's Appreciation Day & Crab Feast at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels sheds light on those who navigate our shores for a living. There will be a “Waterman's Rodeo” boat docking contest along Fogg's Cove and a jigger-throwing contest. Bird Dog and the Road Kings will be on hand for live music. There be cele ity appearances by Edgar Hanson and Nick Mavar from Discovery Channel's hit TV-show “Deadliest Catch” and Liz Choate and Jessica Cavalier from History Channel's “Swamp People.”
General admission is $25 for adults and $16 for children 6-17 with children under six free to attend. Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum members get in for $15 per adult and $6 per child. Visit cbmm.org for more details.
Starting at noon on Sunday, August 11, the classic rock, country, and blues sounds of Bird Dog and the Road Kings will have people dancing along the historic Tolchester Beach Bandstand at the waterfront Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels MD. It's all part of the Talbot County Watermen's Association's 4th Annual Watermen's Appreciation Day, which includes a traditional Maryland crab feast, with beer, water/soda, hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, cake, and snow cones available throughout the event. A spirited “Watermen's Rodeo” boat docking contest is one of the highlights of the August 11th Watermen's Appreciation Day, organized by the Talbot County Watermen's Association and held annually at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, MD.
