Happy to be back on the East Coast again, I'm ready for another beautiful spring weekend. For me, it will include attending the Warrior Dash, where I plan on jumping over cars and fire and donning my Viking helmet with pride. Unfortunately, registration is closed for that event, but there are a lot of other great events going on. Again, I will provide you with three of my favorites.

For the Kids ....
Take them to the theater
The Children's Theatre of Annapolis is holding a Children's Show and Workshop from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday. Kids can see a performance followed by a question and answer period with the cast and a one- hour workshop. It's perfect for youngsters who are catching the acting bug. The workshop is $35 per child. You can find out more at www.childrenstheatreofannapolis.org or by calling 410-757-2281.

Clean up your hometown

While you can take the kids to this event, it may be a tough one for the little guys. From 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, help clean up Main Street in preparation for Commissioning Week at the Naval Academy. Meet at the Main Street Mini Mart for donuts and coffee before teaming up to tackle the grime.
