The Washington Capitals (16-17-2) earned a road win in Buffalo as they topped the Sa es 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night. The Caps were down 2-0 and 3-1 during the game but were able to mount a comeback. Mike Green and Troy Brouwer each had two points and Alex Ovechkin scored the game-winning shootout goal. The Caps were on the verge of another win Easter Sunday in Philadelphia when they were leading the Flyers 4-2 with just over seven minutes remaining only to lose 5-4 in overtime. The Washington Wizards (27-46) started off their weekend with a 97-92 road loss to the Orlando Magic Friday night but salvaged it with a 109-92 win at home Sunday against the Toronto Raptors. The Washington Redskins re-signed tight end Fred Davis to a one-year deal on Friday. Davis chose the Redskins over the Buffalo Bills, who offered him a two-year deal during his visit on Thursday. Cornerback DeAngelo Hall, cut in early March, agreed to return to the Redskins on a one-year deal on Monday night. The team also signed defensive end Darryl Tapp to a one-year deal on Thursday, who will play linebacker and fill in during Rob Jackson's four-game suspension. r rr

After a nail-biting win over Alabama one week ago, the Maryland men's basketball team (25-12) takes on Iowa in the Final Four of the NIT Tournament at 9:30 tonight at Madision Square Garden. The 12th ranked Terps women's basketball team (26-8) lost to No. 3 UConn 76-50 on Saturday in the Sweet 16 of the women's tournament. Alyssa Thomas led the team with 13 points. r rrThe No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team (13-0) took down Penn 15-10 Saturday. Alex Auast scored six goals against the Quakers.
