rThe Baltimore Orioles (32-25) are on the upswing after taking the Battle of the Beltways against the Washington Nationals three games to one. After a disastrous Saturday in which O’s pitcher Jason Hammel gave up three consecutive home runs and was ejected after hitting the next batter with a pitch and reliever T.J. McFarland allowing a Miguel Ca era grand slam shortly after, the O’s recovered by winning the series against the Detroit Tigers that started with a Chris Dickerson three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth on Friday night. The Orioles have won seven of their last 10 games. Next game: at Houston Astros, June 4, 8:10 p.m. r rr![](/downloads/22086/download/Washington-Nationals.jpg.jpe)
rThe Washington Nationals (28-29) on the other hand, have been struggling with injuries and with getting runs on the board. So far they have not lived up to the “World Series or Bust” mentality they em aced heading into spring training. The team has fallen below .500 for the first time since April 30th, placed Bryce Harper on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 27 and ace Stephen Strasburg is suffering from a Grade 1 right lat muscle strain, jeopardizing his next start. On the ight side, right fielder Jayson Werth, rehabbing from a right hamstring strain, hit two three-run home runs Sunday with the Potomac Nationals. The Nats also debuted two rookie pitchers in the last week, Nathan Karns, who had two solid starts against the Orioles and Braves, and Erik Davis, who relieved Karns Sunday against Atlanta. Next game: vs. New York Mets, June 4, 7:05 p.m. r rr![](/downloads/22087/download/navy-redskin.jpg.jpe)
