This Sunday marks the second year in a row that Annapolitans will get an up close and personal view of the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens. The team will hold an open practice at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium starting at 5 p.m.
Parking lots open for cold tailgating at 1 p.m. with stadium gates opening at 3:30 p.m. Practice will last approximately two hours. Following practice, the players will walk over to the front rows of the stadium to sign autographs for children ages 6-14.
The only cost of the event is parking, which is $10 at the stadium lots and $25 for RVs. There will be free parking on off-site locations if the lots become full, according to baltimoreravens.com. Last year, free shuttle rides were offered at the Harry S. Truman Park & Ride just before the Motor Vehicle Administration on Harry S. Truman Parkway.
The team will begin practice with individual warm-ups and drills organized by position groups. The team will then eak up and compete in offense vs. defense drills.
After a very eventful offseason, the purple and black have a very new look with their roster. This is a great chance to see returning veterans like Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Terrell Suggs, Torrey Smith, Michael Oher, and Haloti Ngata as well as new additions like Elvis Dumervil, 1st-Round pick Matt Elam, 2nd-Round selection Arthur Brown, Michael Huff and Chris Canty.
This is the first of three practices open to the public. The team will hold a live practice at M&T Bank Stadium next Sunday at 5 p.m. followed by a practice on August 18th at Stevenson University in Owings Mills at 5 p.m. To attend the practice at Stevenson University, fans must enter a lottery on the team's website due to limited seating.
