Cooler temperatures are signaling that the end of summer is nearing. With such beautiful weather, let's em ace it and enjoy this weekend's outdoor events.
One way to do that is to take a special Sunday morning cruise across the Chesapeake Bay. Also on the Eastern Shore, the Queen Anne's County Fair at the 4-H Park in Centreville is coming to a close so what better way to spend part of your weekend than to enjoy it?
Thursday night, the fair boasts of entertainment from The Jones Boys, Nez Perce, tri-cycle races, an open swine show, out of country rabbits, and more. On Friday, the fair will feature an open beef show, supreme livestock showman, jousting, a 4-H livestock sale, barbeque beef dinner, pillow making, Olympic jumping horses, rabbit hopping, and music by Hot Tub Limo, amongst other entertainment. The fair concludes with a greased pig contest, rabbit hopping, corn hole, a goose and duck calling contest, truck pull and karaoke. Entry fee is $2 through Friday and $3 on Saturday. The Easton Club's Waterview Room will play host a “Summer Cele ation Crab Feast Fundraiser” from 5-9 p.m. on Saturday. A buffet will be served from 6-8 p.m. with music from Erik Higgins. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. The mouthwatering menu includes steamed crabs, steamed shrimp, fried chicken, pulled pork barbeque, corn on the cob, potato salad, watermelon, cookies and ownies. Tickets to this event are $50 in advance and $55 at the door.
