This weekend is a busy one in eventville. It's time to eak out of your winter stupor and enjoy your community. Spring is only 16 days away.
For the Kids
Who doesn't love a little candy? How about a lot of candy? I'm sure you'll have your fill at the 10th Annual Chocolate & Candy Festival in Bel Air. It’s $5 to get in, and free for kids under 5. Check it out from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Bel Air Armory.
For the Teens
Since many teens don't like to be called “kids,” I decided to change the section titles a bit for this week. This DEW it Right Youth Rally for youths ages 13-17 is all about the dangers of driving recklessly, but it’s presented in a fun and not preachy way. Teens can attend a mock trial, participate in a bowling tournament, enter contests, play games, and hear live music and speakers. This event is on Saturday at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. $10 pays for food, drinks and a t-shirt.
For the Whole Family
The Harlem Globetrotters are a treat to watch, no matter what your age. I remember them from the ‘80s, and I didn’t even like basketball back then. Okay, I still don’t like basketball. But this is more of a comedy/music/stunt show. See them play at the Verizon Center in D.C. at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and catch the "first ever four point shot."

Note that none of these events are outdoors. It's still pretty cold outside. Bundle up.
