So much going on this weekend … it’s Easter; it’s Earth Day; it’s beautiful outside. Here are three of my faves, in no particular order.
rBreakfast with the Easter Bunny at B&O Railroad Museum
There are lots of these breakfasts, but few others include a train ride. This one, tomorrow at 9 a.m., has a buffet, a photo op for kids and a chance to step on a locomotive. Call 410-752-2462 to make a reservation.
Earth Day Party at the National Zoo
Tomorrow, from 8 to 10 a.m., join Zoo staff and other visitors in picking up litter that will be sorted into recyclables and trash. Talk to members of the Zoo's Green Team about sustainability initiatives, and speak with representatives from other organizations about what ordinary people can do to build solutions to global eco-issues.
Sierra Club's Earth Day Race & Walk
The Sierra Club of Anne Arundel County will hold the 17th Annual Earth Day 5K Race/Walk on Saturday, at Quiet Waters Park. Kids, adults, and leashed dogs are welcome. Race day registration is from 7:30 to 8:15 at the park for $30. The race starts promptly at 8:30. Trophies, gift certificates, prizes, tee shirts, and refreshments will be provided.
