My name is Amy, and I have never had a problem with decision making. I am wildly impulsive, yes, but I rarely hesitate and even more rarely experience decision-maker's remorse. I was among the first of my friends to decide on a college (University of Tennessee, go Vols!), and after college I willfully decided to move where the wind took me (which I'm thankful was ultimately home to Annapolis) and just a few days after meeting Aaron, I distinctly remember joking (sort of) to my friends that I'd "decided" to make him my "hubby." Two years later on a boat ride on Back Creek, after watching Wednesday night races and a enjoying a casual dinner at Davis', I made my favorite decision yet when I said "yes." (As if I had to think about it...)

Do you remember that scene in Friends, when Monica and Chandler get engaged, and Monica whips out a giant box of wedding planning materials? That is me, subtract the box, add a discretely-named desktop folder that I've been stowing away photos in for longer than I care to admit. (Hint: the folder was renamed less and less discretely as my relationship with Aaron went on. He'd probably tell you that my intentions were pretty clear.) Honestly, I thought I had all the decisions made for my masterfully-crafted fairytale wedding.

Wrong. As it turns out, dreaming up a wedding and officially planning one, are two totally different things. So far I've chosen a venue, changed it, and changed it back. I've sent my idesmaids photos of at least ten different idesmaids dresses that I'd "finally decided on... for real this time..." and I've full-fledged changed my color scheme four times. There is a reason that experts say nine months is an ideal timeframe. Deciding June 2011 on an August 2012 wedding gave me a few too many months to consider my options. In the past seven months, only three planning-related things have stayed constant: the date, my excitement, and of course, my sweet fiance.

With the holidays behind us and the New Year here, the countdown continues. I'm looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting some work done. I'm hoping that this blog, and our readers will be an inspiration. I'd love to hear your thoughts, your planning process. August is coming fast, and I've got plenty of decisions to make.
