Findlay House Global, LLC.
Hosted by the Kent County High School "Be On Your Mental" Student Design Team in collaboration with Findlay House Global, LLC.
This is a free community event. Registered youth participants will receive a free t-shirt and summit pack!
Adolescence is a crucial period for developing and maintaining social and emotional habits important for mental well-being. Young people continue to face increasing challenges in their daily lives. Many teens lack essential interpersonal communication skills, which prevent them from articulating their struggles. Art works as a preventative and positive coping mechanism. Supportive environments in the family, at school and in the wider community are also of critical importance. This interactive summit will help young people and their parents understand how different, free or low-cost, art forms can be used as positive outlets when facing mental health challenges.
The summit will :
● showcase what mental wellness means from youth perspectives. ● We will also explore using the arts as a positive coping tool through hands-on breakout sessions, and ● provide parents with a greater understanding of their role in helping their child manage mental health ●
