Virtual Event Annapolis, Maryland
Thirteen local environmental organizations join forces again this June to promote a “greener good” in Anne Arundel County for the 8th annual GreenGive campaign. GreenGive is a unique initiative aimed at raising funds while increasing residents’ and businesses’ engagement with local environmental groups, issues, projects, and actions.
Each of the thirteen GreenGive partner organizations missions focus on protecting and preserving the natural resources of Anne Arundel County. This two-day online giving campaign runs Tuesday, June 4, 2024-Wednesday, June 5th. To give to one of the GreenGive organizations, visit GreenGive.org/donate. Organizations receive donations individually with a goal of raising $200K collectively this year.
“From its earliest days, Annapolis Green has always been about coming together for the environment. The GreenGive is our single largest fundraiser of the year and truly an emblem of what we are all about,” said Tilly Coyle, Executive Director of Annapolis Green. “We are proud to share this platform with 12 other hard-working organizations that bring backyard opportunities for stewardship to life. We all share similar struggle points regarding being smaller, and to this end, the GreenGive dollars truly matter. I also look at small as a kind of superpower in terms of being hyper-local, active and engaged with the issues that matter the most to residents of Anne Arundel County.”
The campaign will kick off with the partner organizations attending the June 2nd First Sunday Arts Festival in Downtown Annapolis. Interested individuals can visit the GreenGive vendor tent located in People’s Park on Calvert Street to learn more about
each of the 13 organizations, the dedicated individuals behind their work, and how to contribute to their vital work.
"Over the years, the GreenGive has grown to become a critical resource for accomplishing our missions. It's an important fundraising event for all of the partner organizations, but I also love that it increases collaboration and strengthens the connections among our small environmental nonprofit community,” said Erin Valentine, Scenic Rivers Land Trust’s Development and Communications Officer and current GreenGive Chair. “We're all cheering for one another. Which you need when you're tackling vital issues like clean water, forest loss, sustainable agriculture, land conservation, renewable energy, environmental education, workforce development—you name it, GreenGive partners are working on it."
The GreenGive 2024 partners include Annapolis Green, Arundel Rivers Federation, Crownsville Conservancy, Friends of Jug Bay, Good Neighbors Group, Maryland Reentry Resource Center, Scenic Rivers Land Trust, Severn River Association, Spa Creek Conservancy, St. Luke’s Restoration of Nature, Unity Gardens, Anne Arundel County Watershed Stewards Academy, and Wild Kid Acres.
