AJ Meerwald, the official Tall Ship of New Jersey, will spend a week at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Md., from Oct. 8–15. The restored 1928 oyster schooner will then return to CBMM the following week from Oct. 21–23.

While docked at CBMM, AJ Meerwald will run also joint education programming with CBMM’s education staff. AJ Meerwald is operated as a hands-on sailing classroom by the Bayshore Center at Bivalve, a non-profit organization whose mission is to advance the understanding of the human impact on New Jersey’s aquatic environment through education, advocacy, and programming. BCB also operates the Delaware Bay Museum and offers shore-based programs at its campus and schooner’s home port of Bivalve on the scenic Maurice River in Cumberland County.
