Opening Day for Lighthouse

The Choptank River Lighth ouse kicks off a new season of visitation on Wednesday, May 1. From May through October, the replica lighthouse is open daily from 9am to 6 pm. Stop by for a self-guided tour of the lighthouse and browse the min i-museum with exhibits on the area's maritime history. On Friday after noons, Saturdays and Sundays, volunteer lighthouse ^'keepers^' will be on hand to serve as tour guides and visitor info resources. Admis sion is free, but donations are appreciated. The lighthouse is loc ated on the water at the end of Pier A at Long Wharf Park.

The lighthouse is celebrating its seventh birthday this year. It was completed in 2012 as a replica of a historic lighthouse that guided marin ers in the Choptank River a few miles away.
