As America approaches the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote, Preservation Maryland will host a traveling lecture seri es with historian Kacy Rohn which will unravel the history of the suffrag e movement in Maryland and a look at the historic places where this stor y unfolded.
This hour long program will explore the history and curr ent preservation efforts aimed at documenting this important moment in American history.
The lecture comes to Cambridge, Maryland, on A pril 13, 12:30-1:30pm at the Dorchester Center for the Arts. Free, but attendees are asked to RSVP here .
T he lecture is a part of a Preservation Maryland project to docum ent Maryland’s women’s suffrage history. It is co-hosted by the Heart of the Chesapeake Country Heritage Area and supporte d from a grant from the Maryland Historical Trust.
This is a traveling lecture series that will be presented around the state; this April 13 event is the only time it will happen on the Eastern Shore.
