Teen Camp

Our grief day camp programs are for children ages 6 to 18 who are grieving a significant loss by death. Designed by our team of professional counselors and led by staff and trained volunteers, these programs help children and teens learn to navigate life without their loved one. A safe space is provided for participants to share memories, express difficult feelings and try new activities surrounded by others who have also experienced loss and grief.

The teens’ grief camp for ages 13 to 18, Camp Phoenix, will take place from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. June 22 at Arlington Echo Outdoor Education Center in Millersville. As teens get to know each other and learn they are not alone in grieving, they will learn about their own grief and build skills to navigate it through a variety of activities, including art and team building exercises. Here they will find the many emotions of grief are met with care and compassion, as professional counselors and trained volunteers offer their expertise and support. The cost is $40.

All meals, snacks and activities are included in cost to attend. There are scholarships available for those in need. Space is limited. Registration is required and can be completed by calling 888-501-7077 or emailing griefinfo@cheseapeakelifecenter.org.
