Saint-Omer Concert at St. John's College
to
St. John's College - McDowell Hall 60 College Avenue, Annapolis, Maryland 21401
France’s award-winning Orchestre d’Harmonie de Saint-Omer Wind Quintet will perform a concert to celebrate 300 years of French-American history, particularly between Saint-Omer and Maryland. In the 17th and 18th century, many wealthy American families, including the Carrolls and Calverts, would send their children to Saint-Omer’s renowned College of the Jesuits. Educational exchanges still exist between high school students in Maryland and Saint-Omer, supported largely by the Saint Omer Foundation for Transatlantic Values, and the Sister State Program between Maryland and the Region Hauts de France (home to Saint-Omer) was recently reinstated.
The concert is free and open to the public.
