The 16th Annual St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance on Chesapeake Bay will debut in Queen Anne’s County on the majestic waterfront lawn and marina of the casually elegant Kent Island Yacht Club on the Kent Narrows. The sleek and elegant Delahaye is the Grand Marque and Chesapeake Bay yachting will be the focus of this year’s event, set for Friday through Sunday, September 22 – 24 for entrants, and Sunday, September 24 for the public show.
The event includes locally-sourced cuisine prepared by Chef Kurt Peter owner of the famed Chesapeake Chef’s Service and craft libations available for purchase from the Kent Island Yacht Club, along with vendor tents, live music, and awards ceremonies wrapping up the weekend event.
“In addition to an array of exceptional award-winning motorcars, we’ll showcase a number of luxury yachts dockside for the event,” says St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance Chairman Luke L. Phipps. “Entrants and Judges will have the exclusive use of one of these yachts to lounge and enjoy a complimentary wine tasting.”
Phipps says a limited number of suites and rooms are reserved for Concours entrants at the new, waterfront Hyatt Place Kent Narrows & Marina. Accepted entrants will be provided a link to secure accommodations.
The hotel includes ample amenities, with suites and rooms offering full views and balconies overlooking the scenic waters of the Chester River and Eastern Bay. Guests will also be in walking proximity to Kent Narrows’ numerous restaurants, marinas, tiki bars, local landmarks, and attractions.
This is the first year the St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance on Chesapeake Bay will be hosted by the welcoming members of Kent Island Yacht Club, with a rich history of attracting entrants and guests to picturesque, waterfront venues from throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Sunday, September 24 is set aside for spectators and includes a day of grand classic motoring, classic yachts, wooden speed boats, and casual elegance in a waterfront setting.
