Plein Air ad Studio Practice of the Landscape
McBride Gallery 215 Main Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401
“As a landscape painter, my preferred method is to paint a plein air sketch, where I compose, edit, and crop the scene. I take lots of photos for reference. Then back in the studio using the sketch and the photos, I decide what changes I want to make and establish the composition and drawing for the final painting. In my demo, I will show this process and work on a painting in progress.”
