Artfarm studios - Virtual Cartoon Workshop

Please note: This is a 6 week class (Apr. 16 - May. 21) that will meet virtually on Zoom for 6 Fridays from 4:30-6:30pm.

Each week young artists will take on a variety of cartooning tasks ranging from character animation and illustration to storyboards, comics and more. Each class is split into two parts. The first half covers figure drawing fundamentals such as gesture, shape, and line of action. The second half is a cartoon challenge that encourages creative play and critical thinking. Artists can share and talk about their work, draw inspiration from each other and build up their skills while having a little fun to boot.

Supplies needed:

Typing paper or a sketchbook

Pencils (HB/No. 2)

Micron pens (sizes 5 or 8)

Stop Motion Studio App for iOS or Android (free download)

Smartphone tripod (or any homegrown method to stabilize the phone’s camera)

Index cards (same color) or a pack of Artist Trading Cards

Erasers

Markers/Colored Pencils (Optional)
