Tracking seaducks with satellite telemetry.
Join us Thursday, January 14th at 7pm for the second virtual lecture of Annapolis Maritime Museum's Annual Winter Lecture Series!
Dr. Matthew Perry will guide us through the history of waterfowl in the Bay from the time of Captain John Smith to present-day as they compete with humans for optimum habitat. He will discuss Chesapeake Bay studies of the Canvasback, King of the Bay, and the latest tracking studies of Seaducks using satellite telemetry. We will also learn how species such as mute swans, Canada geese, and snow geese, are destroying habitat for other waterfowl species.
All lectures will be held virtually on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. from January 7 to February 25, 2021. Lectures are $10; FREE for AMM Members First Mate and above ($100). Registration is required, even for members.
