How can we help the hearts of our youth find their way home?
We are hosting a free Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) with thanks to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Why is this important?
Young people today face unique challenges that can impact their mental well-being. By equipping ourselves with the knowledge and skills to identify and respond to these challenges, we can create a more supportive and understanding community for our youth.
This 8-hour course covers:
Typical adolescent development (ages 12-18)
Common mental health challenges faced by youth
A 5-step action plan for assisting youth in crisis and non-crisis situations
Local resources available to help
This training is valuable for anyone who interacts with youth, including: Parents and caregivers, Teachers and school staff, Youth leaders and mentors, Community members

Dates: Two-part session on April 14th and 21st
