I thought I had this planned out. I've always been told "do NOT ship it to your destination." "Do NOT check it as luggage." "Be SURE to carry it on the plane and hang it in the first-class cabin."
Easy-peasy, right?
SOUTHWEST AIRLINES DOESN'T HAVE FIRST CLASS NOR DOES IT HAVE THE ACCOMPANYING CABIN.
I already knew Southwest didn't have first class. But I thought, hey, it has to have some form of vertical space in which items can be hung.
I. was. wrong.
So what do I do now? Well, this interesting blog post on WeddingBee shows a ide creating a pillow out of her wedding dress. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
So, there's only one thing left to do ... try to lay it on top of carry-on luggage in the overhead bins and hope no one minds me taking up the space. Surely the fact that it's my wedding dress will make people more understanding, right? It will probably have to be folded, so it will be due for a steaming when I reach Arizona.
If I was being rational right now (as you probably are as you read this), I would realize that this is probably no big deal. The likelihood that I will have a problem is slim to none. However, I am traveling by myself to the wedding (my fiance will be in Las Vegas), so there will be no one to help me.
PLUS ... It's just over 2 weeks to my wedding, and can any ide that's two weeks away from her wedding be considered rational?
No. I didn't think so.
