We take off our rings and things, suds up hands and wrists with antibacterial soap and warm water, and scrub under our nails. Then we put our dirty jewelry right back on our clean hands. Bacteria and germs can thrive nearly anywhere, so it's a good idea to soap up that jewelry occasionally as well. Just be careful that your gems don't go down the drain with the germs. Immediately after you've cleaned the items, dry them well with a soft cloth. For non-submersibles like watches, cell phones and iPods, pick up some alcohol wipes at the drug store and give them a quick swabbing.
