Annapolis Asthma Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists was established in 1985 by Dr. Robert Peterson, founder and president. Pulmonary Medicine is a subspecialty of Internal Medicine. Pulmonologists diagnose and treat disorders of the lungs and respiratory system. These disorders include asthma, emphysema, and COPD. They also treat infections such as pneumonia and TB; as well as diseases such as lung cancer, sarcoid, pulmonary fibrosis, chronic cough; and occupational lung diseases such as asbestosis. Sleep Medicine is provided by our sleep specialists. Evaluation and treatment of Sleep Apnea snoring narcolepsy, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, periodic leg movements, REM behavior disorders and other sleep related problems are performed. Annapolis Asthma Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists works closely with the Anne Arundel Sleep Lab and Sleep Services of America. Home sleep studies are also available.

Dr. Weinstein joined the practice in 1989 after completing his Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the University of South Florida, in Tampa. Board Certifications: Internal Medicine Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Yu joined the practice in 1999 after completing her fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins University where she also did research in Molecular Biology. She is the Medical Director of Anne Arundel Medical Centers Critical Care Department. Board Certifications: Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Howard Young joined us in 2002 after completing his Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia. The first year of his fellowship was at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his under-graduate degree in history at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. He received his medical degree and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia. His Pulmonary interests include lung cancer and interventional and advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy. He is a regular member of the AAMC Thoracic Oncology program. Board Certifications: Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Patel’s practice is hospital based, anchoring the critical care team at Annapolis Asthma Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists. Dr. Patel joined our practice in 2011 after completing a critical care fellowship at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
