Dr. J. Fredrick Heaton, known to his friends and patients as “Rick” has been a specialist in Endodontics on the Eastern Shore for over 34 years. Dr. Heaton’s primary mission is to save the teeth of both adults and children by performing root canal therapy and surgery. He also is directly involved in treating oral trauma, often seen with sports injuries and other accidents. Dr. Heaton is often called upon for diagnosis of oral pain in complex dental cases. Recognition as an Endodontist requires, at least, two additional years of specialized training in a residency approved by the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists. In addition to his main office in Easton, Dr. Heaton maintains a satellite office at 202 St. Claire Place in Stevensville. The Kent Island office provides greater access for Eastern Shore patients requiring endodontic treatment. Dr. Heaton and his staff are committed to saving your teeth in a gentle and caring environment utilizing the most current dental technology.
WHO I AM
In dental school, you learn how to treat teeth on manikins and models in a preclinical setting before you ever see a patient. One day in the patient clinic and intently involved doing the best possible treatment of a complicated procedure, one of my favorite instructors quietly reminded me, ”Rick, try to remember there is a person attached to that tooth!!” I have tried to never forget those words of wisdom.
Debbie and I support many charities but the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, the DelMarVa Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Talbot Hospice, and Habitat for Humanity of the Choptank are major causes dear to us.
