October 2nd was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and the Loews Hotel was the perfect venue for what has already come to be known as the fashion event of the season for Annapolis, Style on the Runway. This hair and fashion show was the product of the collaboration of David Alexander Salon and Spa and the non-profit Stepping Out for Breast Cancer.

The show took the audience out of Annapolis and put them on the runway of a New York or Paris runway show, providing over-the-top entertainment and inspiration mixed with fashion forward couture. Organizers estimate more than 350 attended the show and the event itself raised more than $80,000 in its first year. This spectacular show benefited two local Annapolis organizations, METAvivor Research and Support Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit and the Anne Arundel Medical Center Breast Center. Preparations are already underway for next year's event, which promises to be even more fantastic and raise even more for local charities.
