AACC SETS ART PORTFOLIO REVIEW EVENT DEC. 1
Gather your best finished artworks, works in progress and sketchbooks for Anne Arundel Community College’s Art Portfolio Review Event from 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, on the Arnold campus.
High school juniors, seniors and college transfer art students can meet with representatives from some of the highest caliber art schools in the nation to present their portfolio. In addition, several high quality liberal arts colleges with solid visual arts programs will attend. The event takes place in the Cade Center for Fine Arts Room 219.
Meet with representatives on a first-come, first-serve basis from 6:30-9 p.m. A special invitational art show for graduating AACC art students is on exhibit from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the third floor hall of the Cade Center.

ORIGINAL INDIAN DANCE-DRAMA TELLS STORY OF BUDDHA
See an original dance-dramatic performance about the life of Buddha by students from the Kalairani Natya Salai dance school in Adelphi from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Anne Arundel Community College.
This event organized by S.G. Theater Group Inc. of Severn and sponsored by the AACC Cultural Events Committee tells “The Story of Buddha,” following his life from childhood to enlightenment. Learn how Buddha’s teachings compare to Hinduism, Islam and Judaism through the show, which is narrated in English. It includes a segment on a woman who became a Buddhist monk in southern India thousands of years ago.
The student dancers wear colorful costumes and perform classical Indian, semi-classical and fusion dance styles as choreographed by Rani Devi, artistic director of KNS Dance School. She teaches Indian dance at George Mason University and has choreographed and staged more than 400 Indian dances.
The show takes place in the Robert E. Kauffman Theater in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts on the AACC Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. General admission is $10; AACC students pay $5. AACC DANCE COMPANY PLANS DECEMBER PERFORMANCES
Rehearsals are under way for the Anne Arundel Community College Dance Company’s Dec. 2 and Dec. 3 fall concert, “Imprints,” which will showcase original dance pieces choreographed by a guest artist, the company director and student dancers. The curtain rises at 8 p.m. both evenings at the Robert E. Kauffman Theater on the Arnold campus. Dancers include (1st row, L-R) Rachael Scaringe (Odenton), Andre Hinds (Severna Park), Kelsey Garrett (Severn) and (2nd row, L-R) Arrington Lassiter (Washington, D.C.), Rachael LaBonte (Arnold) and Cedric Bonner (Severn). AACC ‘POWER OF THREE' EXHIBIT FEATURES SCULPTURE, CERAMICS
A variety of sculptures and ceramic artworks go on display Nov. 22-Dec. 3 for Anne Arundel Community College’s “Power of Three” exhibit in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts gallery on the Arnold campus.
See artworks created by more than two dozen students and faculty members. Meet the artists and talk with them about the creative process and their exhibited pieces at a free reception from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the gallery.
Among the artworks are a sculpture by Gretchen Amazeen of Bowie and a ceramic piece by Colleen Adair of Annapolis.
