WHO I AM
1. WHAT ALTERNATIVE OCCUPATION WOULD YOU CHOOSE?
I worked as a paramedic/firefighter in my 20’s. If I hadn’t gone to medical school, I would still be doing that. Loved every minute.
2. DESCRIBE YOUR OPERATING ROOM STYLE/BEDSIDE MANNER?
Relaxed. Patients come to me because I am an authority on east cancer, but not an “authority figure.” I am also relaxed and comfortable in the operating room. I think the team functions best when everyone is treated with respect.
3. WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE THAT YOU'VE RECEIVED?
You only get one life, make it the best that you can.
4. WHAT PHILANTHROPIC CAUSES DO YOU SUPPORT?
The group that I travel to third world countries with to offer free surgery to patients who have no other way of getting the care they need.
