D.J. claims his favorite class in school is history, which is taught by his football coach, Bryon Sofinowski—and that’s a good thing. He, his coach, and teammates have been busy making history of their own. As a wide receiver and cornerback for the Buccaneers, D.J. and the team won its first-ever regional title in November, and D.J. earned All-Mid-Shore honors as a defensive back.
And as the point guard for the Bucs basketball team, he was a key member of that team. Now, he’s playing midfield for the lacrosse squad, for which he’s been on varsity since his freshman year. “I want to thank my family for everything they have done for me,” D.J. says. “My dad always said, ‘you get out of it what you put into it.’”
He’s been putting plenty into his class work, as his 3.5 GPA can attest. He’s not sure which college he’ll attend, but for now, he wants to finish his junior year, and then go out with a bang in 2013. D.J. lives in Stevensville with his parents, David and Kristen Plumer, and his younger sister, 10-year-old Marissa.
