The Oyster Recovery Partnership offers several opportunities for citizens to get involved in supporting hands-on oyster restoration. Please visit www.oysterrecovery.org to learn more. One opportunity occurs on October 1st, 2013 when ORP invites guests and needs volunteer assistance with their 3rd annual “Mermaid Kiss Oyster Fest” fundraiser held at the National Aquarium in Baltimore from 6:30-9:30pm. This event is a cele ation of efforts—past, present and future—to restore the Bay oyster population. The Mermaid Kiss Oyster Fest will feature a variety of Chesapeake Bay oysters, food from Baltimore’s trendiest restaurants, drinks, music and more. Guests will also have after-hours access to the newly-renovated Aquarium and recently opened shark exhibit. There will also be a ief “It’s My Bay” ceremony presenting awards to public policy makers, individuals, corporations and others that have made significant contributions to restoring oysters.
