Often, kids playing youth sports have to choose between several options when deciding which sports to play. Emma apparently decided “both,” having played lacrosse and soccer for 11 years now. She also runs cross country, and is a guard for the Eagles on the hardwood. In addition to wearing many uniforms, she wears many hats in and out of school. As a member of STARS (Students Taking Academic Responsibility) she's a teacher's assistant, and with a 3.4 GPA, a staple on the honor roll. As a part of the Adaptive Program, she helps teach special-needs children how to enjoy lacrosse. To her, it's all about being part of a team, on the field and in life. “I enjoy just being part of a team,” she says, “because when I was growing up, I spent a lot of time with my family because I was homeschooled. It taught me how to be part of a team successfully. “I absolutely love children,” she adds.“I am very artistic. Painting is a passion of mine. I love to cook and eat, thanks to my mom, who cooks some of the best food ever!” Her list of sports accomplishments is long, and includes repeated all-conference honors in lacrosse, commendations for club lacrosse, and time spent playing all-star soccer. Emma will be playing Division I lacrosse for Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Pa., and majoring in nursing while she's there. Emma has an older other, 20-year-old Eric, a younger other Ryan, who's 14, and a baby sister, 10-year-old Lucy. She lives in Gam ills with her parents, Rick and Dianne.
