Easton, Md.— With a growing international fan base, the Veronneau band is poised for another stellar year. In 2011 they enjoyed international tours and a chart-climbing debut record that also attracted a huge Internet radio following. The world-traveled troupe begins 2012 with a series of shows in their mid-Atlantic home base. Last spring the group released Joie de Vivre (Joy of Living) to instant success. The CD features samba, bossa nova, gypsy jazz and pop classics from Brazil, Mexico, France and Great Britain. Acoustic guitars and tasteful percussion frame the captivating vocals of Lynn Véronneau, who sings in several languages. Canadian music critic Jordan Richardson called the album “a cultured compendium of musical styles surrounding an astonishing voice.” Earning praise from critics worldwide, the album climbed to the top ten of jazz and world music stations in several countries and remains a huge success on Internet radio.
Formed just two years ago in Northern Virginia, Véronneau was immediately, wildly popular. Last summer’s whirlwind tours included smash performances in Canada and the U.K., most notably for a crowd of tens of thousands at the Beat-Herder Festival in Lancashire, England. Stunning French Canadian beauty Lynn Véronneau is on track to international stardom, as a compelling interpreter of beloved songs in the manner of Stacey Kent and Madeleine Peyroux.
