WHAT:
Students at Georgetown East Elementary will receive a big surprise during a special music class this morning (11/2) to help expand their music program, courtesy of the new Fidelity Investments® Annapolis Investor Center and the company’s ongoing efforts to support arts education in public schools.
Following a performance by the Georgetown East Elementary band and orchestra, a group from Fidelity® will surprise the music students by unveiling a donation of and new band and orchestra instruments, including:
• 15 violins
• 5 flutes
• 4 clarinets
• 4 trumpets
• 1 concert bass drum
• 3 bell kits
The donation, collectively valued at more than $25,000, is being made as part of Fidelity’s ongoing efforts to support public school music programs, and encourage the musical interests and talents of local students. The donation of instruments is being facilitated by The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation.
