Friday night, “A Monte Carlo Night,” will take place at Loews Annapolis hotel, and you can bet we’ll be there.
Junior League of Annapolis, an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through action and leadership of trained volunteers, hope to raise funds that will go toward strengthening the community. And they promise a good time, while they're at it.
Tickets to the event include an open bar, tastings of local restaurants, and gambling money to get you started. Come see “if Lady Luck is on your side!”
But first, here's what you need to know…
Tickets are still available, and they’re a steal at $80 per person. You can scoop them up online at JLAnnapolis.org, or at the door.
You will need cash for parking. Unless of course, you find it on the street. (Hey, we did invite Lady Luck, didn’t we?) Self parking at the Loews is $8, valet is $10.
The night will begin with a little play-money gambling at casino games, following by a silent auction, a wine pull, and a raffle. All amidst the open bar and restaurant tastings.
There will be a coat check.
Don't bother to eat before you go. There won't be a full plated dinner, but tastings galore should fill you up, and there will be both full tables and high top tables at which to dine.
And most importantly: What to wear. The event is black tie optional. Ladies, you'll feel perfectly comfortable donning anything from a cocktail dress to a simple floor-length gown, and even a little beyond. Gents, a suit and tie will do just fine (we do love the bowties…), but we wouldn't hate it if you oke out the tuxedo.
