Flying high as a student—Jeff has a 3.5 GPA, putting him in the top 20 percent of his class—this 17-year-old senior is hoping to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis. His extracurricular work in the United States Navy Sea Cadet Corps as the top ranking Chief Petty Officer (his unit's ranked fourth out of 600 units in the U.S.) and his passion for all things military are indicative of the same dedication that he shows on the field. “I'm huge into the military, and huge into flying,” says Jeff, who's just about finished earning his pilot's license, having soloed for the first time earlier this year. “I'd love to join the Navy and become a pilot; I want to major in aeronautical engineering, too.”

A guard and linebacker for the Bulldogs, he's playing crease defense under head coach Ben Bradner right now. “It's a great position to play; just me between the guy with the ball and the goalie. I'm the last line, kind of the spoiler for a lot of guys, too.” In his free time, Jeff visits friends, and plays guitar in a small band, which entertains the elderly on Saturday nights. A resident of Greensboro, he lives with his parents, Laura and Nick, and his 14-year-old sister, Kristy.
