Maryland National Guard Staff Sergeant Erik Rittler (second from left) and his wife, Sandy, (third from left) delivered boxes filled with games, puzzles, dolls and other toys to Memorial Hospital a few days before Christmas. They wanted to share the generosity of Operation Homefront, a national organization that benefits families of people serving in the military. The toys are funded by customers of Dollar Tree stores.
“We received so many toys that we wanted to share them with children who are in the hospital during the holidays,” Rittler explained. “Sharing these toys with the hospital is our way of giving back to the community.”
