Touted as the coolest event of the year—literally, the Polar Bear Plunge is cele ating its 15th Anniversary of freezing fun. Plunge participants take a quick dip in the Chesapeake Bay to help raise funds for the Special Olympics of Maryland, which is the state's largest year-round organization devoted to sports training and competition for intellectually disabled children and adults. At Sandy Point State Park, 1100 East College Parkway, Annapolis. Anyone can participate, so if you're a spectator the event is free, but if you're participating you and your team must pre-register and raise a minimum of $50 per person.
