Touted as the coolest event of the year—literally, the Polar Bear Plunge is cele ating its 15th Anniversary of freezing fun. Plunge participants take a quick dip in the Chesapeake Bay to help raise funds for the Special Olympics of Maryland, which is the state's largest year-round organization devoted to sports training and competition for intellectually disabled children and adults. At Sandy Point State Park, 1100 East College Parkway, Annapolis. Anyone can participate, so if you're a spectator the event is free, but if you're participating you and your team must pre-register and raise a minimum of $50 per person.
Polar Bear Plunge recently released a fun promotional video, featuring numerous athletes that have been long been supporters of Special Olympics MD through the years—Joe Flacco, Kimmie Meissner, Michael McCrary and numerous Chesapeake Bayhawks players. Check it out!
