On April 28th, the town of Oxford will hold its annual cele ation of small town living: Oxford Day. An all-day family event, Oxford Day unites all of the town’s businesses and organizations. Together, they’ll create an activity-packed day of fun that’s featured everything from pancake eakfasts to parades in the past. This year, all participants have been asked to add an environmentally-friendly element to their displays, floats, and events to show that the community is committed to making a difference. Taste of the Town (And County) welcomes visitors to enjoy Kent County’s culinary delights. Taking place on April 29th from noon to 3 p.m. in Chestertown’s Fountain Park, the event ings restaurants, chefs, caterers, farms, local producers, and locavores together in a cele ation of all things food. This year’s event will also give attendees the chance to check out an exhibit of the work produced by the artists participating in Chestertown’s Paint the Town Plein Air and vote for their favorite. Proceeds from Taste of the Town (and County) will go toward the work of the Downtown Chestertown Association, including its planting project, Curb Appeal. Adkins Arboretum offers the region's largest selection of native plants in its Native Plant Sale. Visitors can purchase flowering trees and shrubs, ferns, perennials, and grasses for spring planting. Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer questions, and docents will lead guided walks throughout the arboretum’s grounds. On April 19th through the 22nd, United States Yacht Shows will ing the Bay Bridge Boat Show to the Bay Bridge Marina in Stevensville. The mid-Atlantic's biggest spring boat show, it will feature more than 400 new and okerage boats, free seminars and demo rides, antique and classic boat displays, an appearance by the Kent Narrows Racing Association, and kayaks, canoes, rowing shells, and inflatables. Attendees will also be given extensive food and drink options. Ticket prices range between $4 and $19, with children six and under admitted at no cost.
